Endoscopy/Colonoscopy Endoscopy is a nonsurgical procedure used to examine a person's digestive tract. While a colonoscopy is the endoscopic examination of the large bowel and the distal part of the small bowel.
Dr. Farid Namin began his higher education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he pursued his undergraduate studies. He then attended both the University of Health and Science Chicago Medical School and the American University School of Medicine, earning his medical degree in 1995. During his time in medical school, he also obtained a Master's Degree in medical sciences. After completing his medical studies, Dr. Namin joined the research fellowship program at the University of Illinois, specifically the Division of Hematology and Oncology. This program allowed him to delve into research related to blood disorders and oncology. In 1998, Dr. Namin relocated to Kansas City to continue his medical training at the Kansas University Medical Center. There, he completed his residency in three areas: Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, and Gastroenterology. After his residency, Dr. Namin focused on Gastroenterology and pursued a fellowship in this field at the Kansas University Medical Center. His fellowship provided specialized training in diagnosing and treating disorders related to the digestive system. Throughout his career, Dr. Namin has dedicated himself to extensive research, particularly in the field of functional bowel and motility disorders. His contributions in this area have been published, showcasing his valuable insights and advancement
Dr. Paramjeet Sabharwal has over 20 years of experience with endoscopic procedures. He is also specialized in Bariatrics. As a bariatric surgeon many of his patients have required a colonoscopy for indications such as colorectal cancer screening, chronic diarrhea, or GI bleeding, all of which are commonly encountered during routine clinical practice. Dr. Sabharwal is highly skilled to perform advanced endoscopic procedures.
